All tutoring is billed at $102.03 per 80-minute session.

First, students complete their baseline testing at home and send me the results. Then we’ll schedule a free consultation via phone call or Zoom. I’ll explain SAT vs ACT and give you my recommendation, but the choice is ultimately yours.

I supply materials, including my structured curriculum, a book containing five practice tests (or access to five online practice tests), and a silenced watch if you are testing on paper. I suggest making sure you have printer paper and ink on hand, since students will need to print worksheets and other materials throughout the tutoring process.

Most students meet with me twice a week for approximately 7-10 weeks, then once a week for at least four weeks, until their first official test. During the first phase of tutoring, we work through my curriculum, and the student learns to mark up the test effectively, how to make smart skips, and how to manage the timing. During the second phase of tutoring, students take weekly practice tests at home, then complete a test-review session with me. During the session, we go over missed questions and make any needed adjustments to the test plan.

The ACT still offers the essay, though most students don’t need to take it. For students who do, I’ll offer some guidance and brief practice toward the end of the tutoring process.

While some students are one-and-done, I always recommend initially planning on taking two official tests. This gives you some leeway if you wake up feeling sick the day of the official test (etc, etc, etc) and takes some of the test-day pressure off.
